Bellator 70: Hawn Outscores Weedman, Konrad Rolls Through Prindle

Rick Hawn continued his ascension up the MMA ranks tonight in New Orleans, as the former Olympic judoka worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Brent Weedman to win Bellator’s latest lightweight tourney.

Although the bout was competitive affair, and neither man appeared close to ending the fight, Hawn managed to land a couple of takedowns and outscored Weedman with strikes.

In the card’s other feature attraction, Cole Konrad had no problems retaining his heavyweight title, as the decorated wrestler quickly swept Eric Prindle to the mat and tapped the powerful striker out with a kimura from half guard.
