Bellator 84: Alexander Volkov Takes Heavyweight Belt, Dave Jansen vs. Marcin Held Postponed

By FCF Staff

Alexander Volkov laid claim to Bellator’s vacant heavyweight title tonight at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana, by working his way to  a unanimous decision win over Richard Hale.

The lightweight tourney finale between Dave Jansen and Marcin Held did not take place as scheduled however. According to a tweet from Jansen, Held was prevented by the gaming commission from entering the casino due to the fact he is just 20 years old.

Here are the results from the Bellator 84 main card.

Alexander Volkov def. Rich Hale via unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 49-46, 49-46, 49-46)
Daniel Vizcaya def. Jack Hermansson via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
Felice Herrig def. Patricia Vidonic via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Louis Taylor def. Joe Vedepo via KO (punch) – R1, 4:12
