Bellator 96: “King Mo” Lawal KO’s Seth Petruzelli

“King Mo” Lawal got back on the winning track tonight in Thackerville, Oklahoma, as the former Strikeforce champ knocked out UFC vet Seth Petruzelli at Bellator 96. The victory comes approximately four months after Lawal was stopped by Emanuel Newton, with a highlight reel, spinning backfist at Bellator 90.

With the win, Lawal will move on to face Jacob Noe in the promotion’s “Summer Series” light-heavyweight tournament finals, as he stopped Renato Sobral in round three. The UFC vet Sobral, who has now lost two straight and is 2-3 in his last five, announced he was retiring after the bout.
