Here are the results from tonight’s Bellator 98 card in Uncasville, which saw middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko defeat Brett Cooper by unanimous decision in an entertaining war.

Early on, Cooper was able to stun Shlemenko on a couple of occasions, and appeared to be en route to the upset win, but the rugged champion recovered and resumed his attacks. Later in the bout it was Shlemenko who had Cooper on the ropes, after landing several punishing strikes, but the challenger managed to survive.

After the end of the fifth round, which saw Shlemenko take Cooper down and land blows from above, it was announced he had won by a 48-47 (x3) margin.
