Bellator Adds Paul Daley and Melvin Manhoef to Roster

By FCF Staff

Since assuming the president role at Bellator, Scott Coker has talked about adding notable names to the promotion’s roster, and now the company has announced the signings of Paul Daley and Melvin Manhoef.

On Monday, Bellator confirmed it has signed the two veterans; however no details as to when they will compete for the promotion were disclosed.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. We want Bellator to be a destination for not only the top-tier fighters in the sport, but the first-choice destination for fans to see the most entertaining fights in the sport,” Coker said in a press release from the promotion. “Both Paul and Melvin add a level of excitement to the roster that I can’t wait to see inside our cage, and this is just the beginning.”

Daley (34-13-2) will be returning to Bellator, as the noted finisher competed for the company in 2012 and stopped Rudy Bears. More recently, the British welterweight knocked out Romario Manoel da Silva while fighting for BAMMA.

“Like always, I’m coming into Bellator to put on a show,” Daley said. “I loved working for Coker back in Strikeforce, and when I got the call to possibly come back to Bellator, it was a no-brainer. I feel great, I’m fresh, and I’m going after that belt.”

Manhoef (28-11-1) is coming off a TKO win over Evangelista Santos at a Gringo Super Fight card in April. The Dutch middleweight, who like Daley has also been competing in kickboxing recently, is 3-2 in his last five MMA bouts.
