Although Fedor Emelianenko is now 43-year’s-old, and has been taken out in two of his last four bouts, “Rampage” Jackson understands the storied heavyweight can still pack a punch.

Jackson is booked to fight the former PRIDE champ at Bellator’s upcoming event in Saitama, Japan, which will take place on December 28th. While speaking to the media recently about Fedor, and their upcoming fight, Jackson said this (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“Fedor is very, very dangerous,” Jackson said. “Still very aggressive. Styles make fights, and I think the matchup between Fedor and I makes for a dangerous fight for either one of us….”

“Fedor is really, really good on the ground, and I like to think I have good defense against jiu-jitsu and all that stuff, so I don’t care where the fight goes. I just want an exciting fight.”

Emelianenko (38-6) will be fighting for the first time since January, when he was quickly stopped by Ryan Bader in the finals of Bellator’s heavyweight grand prix.

The 41-year-old Jackson (38-13), meanwhile, hasn’t fought since last September, when he scored a TKO win over Wanderlei Silva.
