Bellator has increased its distribution capacity considerably, as the promotion has reportedly signed a multi-year deal with the sports streaming service, DAZN.
The new agreement, which was announced at a press conference today in New York City, is worth “nine figures” (according to a report from MMA Junkie). DAZN will receive exclusive rights to seven Bellator cards annually, and 15 events will be simulcast yearly with Paramount.
The first event to be streamed by DAZN will take place on September 29th in San Jose. In the card’s main event, Rory MacDonald will challenge middleweight champ, Gegard Mousasi. The card will also feature a fourth fight between Wanderlei Silva and “Rampage” Jackson.
The new deal with DAZN also means that cards will be accessible live, and not via tape delay.
