Bellator Signs Top Japanese Bantamweights Masakatsu Ueda and Hiroshi Nakamura

Bellator Fighting Championships has added two of Japan’s top bantamweights to its roster, as the promotion has confirmed that Masakatsu Ueda and Hiroshi “Iron” Nakakmura will compete in its upcoming season six competition.

Ueda (14-1-2) will arrive in Bellator having won four straight fights, which includes a split decision win ove Royler Gracie in September. The 33 year-old, former Shooto champion has scored wins over Rumina Sato and recent Bellator tournament winner Eduardo Dantas.

Nakamura (14-5-4) is coming off back-to-back wins over Yoshiro Maeda and Seijao Akao and is 4-1 in his last five fights. The 30 year-old bantamweight holds a win over veteran Masakazu Imanari and battled top ranked featherweight Hatsu Hioki to a draw in 2008.

Other confirmed bantamweights for the season six  competition include Alexis Vila, Marcos Galvao, Ed West, Rodrigo Lima, Luis Nogueira.

Bellator’s sixth season of action gets underway March 2nd and all of the promotion’s 2012 tourneys will be broadcast live on MTV 2.
