Bellator has officially announced that Sergei Kharitonov has been signed by the organization, and the confirmation includes some comments from the promotion’s president Scott Coker.
The 35 year-old, Russian heavyweight has signed a multi-fight, exclusive deal with Bellator. In a statement announcing the deal, Coker had this to say about Kharitonov.
“I have had the best seat in the house for some of Kharitonov’s heavyweight outings,” Coker said, “and I know Sergei [Kharitonov] can come in and make an immediate impact on our heavyweight division. He is an extremely skilled and experienced fighter who can end a fight in the blink of an eye, and we look forward to having him do just that inside the Bellator cage. Plus, he’s already competed at one ‘Dynamite’ event before, maybe he could do so again in the future!”
Kharitonov is currently riding a five fight winning streak in MMA competition. Recently Bellator also signed former UFC lightweight champ Benson Henderson, and he will face welterweight champ Andrey Koreshkov on April 22nd.
