Bellator’s Scott Coker Confirms Talks Underway With Luke Rockhold’s Management

Following Luke Rockhold’s recent announcement that he’s now a free agent, Bellator President Scott Coker has confirmed the promotion’s talking with the fighter’s camp.
Last month, Rockhold reported that he had requested his release from the UFC, and that his wish was granted. The 38-year-old also said he was interested in talking with promotions like the PFL, ONE Championship and Bellator.
Ahead of Bellator 290 this week, Coker relayed the following (quotes via MMA Junkie).
“We’ve talked to Dave Martin and I think he’s going to come to the fight. We’ll probably have a conversation or two,” Coker said, while referring to Rockhold and his manager. “We just haven’t sat down and had a real conversation yet. We’ve been busy with this event, but we will at some point, to see if there’s something that could work or if there’s a fit.”
Rockhold, who has battled injuries in recent years, carries a record of 16-6. The former middleweight champ’s last victory took place in 2017, when he stopped David Branch.
