Bellator’s Yaroslav Amosov Wants Title Shot, But Won’t Wait on The Sidelines
By FCF Staff
After moving his record to 23-0 this past Friday at Bellator 239, Yaroslav Amosov believes he’s earned a shot at the promotion’s welterweight crown. But, the rising, Ukranian fighter doesn’t want to wait out on the sidelines before that happens.
The 26 year-old Amosov faced Ed Ruth at the February 21st card, and worked his way to a decision win. The victory was “Dynamo’s” fourth with Bellator.
After the bout, Amosov had this to say, when asked about the possibility of fighting for the title next (quote via MMA Junkie):
“Of course – that’s what has to happen,” Amosov said. “(But) I’m here to fight, not to wait for the opportunity. I’m absolutely confident to fight anyone Bellator brings me, so let’s see what happens.”
Current welterweight champ, Douglas Lima, is set to fight Gegard Mousasi for the vacant middleweight title on May 9th.
