Benson Henderson’s Bellator Debut Peaks at Over 1 Million Viewers

Benson Henderson was handed a one sided, decision loss at Bellator 153, but “Smooth’s” promotional debut drew big ratings for Spike.
Henderson took on Bellator’s welterweight champ Andrey Koreshkov at the April 22nd event, and the latter badly outscored him for five rounds. The former UFC lightweight champ lost the fight via unanimous decision.
According to a follow up report from MMA Mania, however, Henderson’s fight with Koreshkov averaged 973,000 viewers. The fight peaked at 1.1 million. The card averaged 686,000 viewers.
Henderson was fighting for the first time since he decisioned Jorge Masvidal in November, which ended his UFC deal.
