Brenneman vs. Roberts, Denis vs. Sandoval Confirmed for UFC on FX 1
By FCF Staff
Just days after the profile of former Sengoku competitor Nick Denis was added to the UFC website, the promotion has confirmed that the bantamweight will fight Joseph Sandoval at the January 20th, UFC on FX 1 card. A welterweight tilt between Charlie Brenneman and Daniel Roberts has also been added to the event, which will be hosted by Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
Denis (10-2) will make his Octagon debut following a KO win over Bellator vet Nick Mamalis in October, which was his only appearance in 2011.
Sandoval (6-1) is coming off an unsuccessful UFC debut, as he was stopped by Walel Watson in the first round at UFC Live 6 in October.
Brenneman (!4-3) will be looking to rebound from a stoppage loss he suffered against Anthony Johnson in October, after working his way to a unanimous decision win over Rick Story this past June.
Roberts (12-3) will try to stop a two fight losing skid on January 20th, as the welterweight has incurred back-to-back decision losses to Claude Patrick and most recently Rich Attonito.
The UFC on FX 1 card will be headlined by a lightweight bout between Melvin Guillard and Jim Miller, and will be broadcast live on the FX channel.
