Brian Ortega Says Bout With Chan Sung Jung “Sounds Good”
By FCF Staff
Brian Ortega is preparing to return to the cage, for the first time since last year, and the featherweight contender says a fight with Chan Sung Jung “sounds good”.
Ortega has yet to compete since he faced UFC featherweight champ Max Holloway last December, and was unable to continue into the fifth round. Recently Ortega spoke with MMA Fighting, and he confirmed that there were talks about him fighting Jung at the UFC’s September 21st card in Mexico City. The fight never ended up getting signed, but when asked about who he wants to fight next, “T-City” said this:
“I want to fight. I want to give the fans a main event fight somewhere,” Ortega said before naming Jung. “Korean Zombie” sounds good, especially after the fact that he’s talking s—t, which is not like him, so I’m guessing there’s something behind that.
“If he can keep talking and the fans want to see it and we can make that a main event somewhere, we should.”
Jung, meanwhile, is coming off a quick stoppage win over Renato “Moicano” in June, after he was knocked out in the fifth round by Rodriguez last November.
