Browne-Werdum, Tate-Carmouch Booked For UFC on FOX 11

Travis Browne

By FCF Staff

Not only has the UFC announced that the promotion’s eleventh FOX card will take place in Orlando on April 19th, but it’s confirmed two, big name bouts for the event.  At heavyweight, Travis Browne will fight Fabricio Werdum, and at bantamweight Miesha Tate will battle Liz Carmouche.

Browne (16-1-1) is coming off a quick, knockout win over Josh Barnett at UFC 168 last month to extend his win streak to three.

Werdum (17-5-1), on the other hand, hasn’t fought since June when he tapped out Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. The heavyweight has also won three straight.

The winner of the UFC on FOX 11 bout will move on to challenge heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez. The Browne-Werdum match-up was not cited as the card’s main event in the official announcement.

Tate (13-5) is looking to rebound from back-to-back losses to Cat Zingano and most recently, champion Ronda Rousey.

Carmouche (9-4) dropped a unanimous decision loss to Alexis Davis at UFC FN 31 in her last outing, after stopping Jessica Andrade in July.

UFC on FOX 11 will be hosted by Orlando’s Amway Center.
