BRUCE BUFFER, THE "VOICE OF MIXED MARTIAL ARTS AND THE UFC OCTAGON" HAS AGREED TO ANNOUNCE THE NATIONAL DEBUT OF FRANK SHAMROCK’S AND SPIN ADVERTISING’S NEW "BUSHIDO" MMA SHOW


Bruce BufferThursday January 18th marks the date for the National Debut of BUSHIDO, a MMA and Muay Thai Event which will be held at Rockin Rodeo in Tempe, Arizona. A sell-out crowd of over 2,700 fans are expected to attend. This MMA event is produced by Frank Shamrock & Spin Advertising and will feature premiere fighters from the UFC, KOTC, and Pride. You will see such fighters as Roger Neff, Chris Brennan, Kelly Dullanty, Shannon Ritch, John Renken, David Harris, Mo’ Doom and Dave Velasquez. The main event will be a female Muay Thai bout with Sunshine Fettkether going against Jessica "the stalker" Lapointe. Special appearances by Frank Shamrock, Tito Ortiz, Mark Kerr, Daijiro Matsui, Don Frye and Ricco Rodriguez.

Monday, January 8 — Today we speak with two very busy men. Frank Shamrock tells us about when he may return to fighting himself, his cornering of fighter Ryan Bow at UFC XXX on February 23, and his role as a producer of Bushido, a mixed martial art and Thai boxing event on January 18 in Tempe, Arizona. IFC commissioner Paul Smith joins us to discuss the Warrior’s Challenge XI show on January 13 at Table Mountain Casino outside Fresno, California, the IFC card at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City on January 19, and the latest in the ongoing battle to get the rules for mixed martial arts implemented in the State of California.

Tuesday, January 9Shonie Carter, who has fought and grappled in just about every major style that there is, checks in with us to tell us about when he will fight next. Matt Furey joins us to tell us about his book "Combat Conditioning" and his other many activities.

Wednesday, January 10Ian Freeman, considered the top mixed martial arts heavyweight in the UK, tells us about his upcoming return to Pancrase. Also, a recent TV tabloid show featured some "expert" who declared that fighting in professional mixed martial arts events constituted "a criminal act." Today we discuss this with one of the world’s leading experts on war crimes, Dr. Peter Maguire, author of the forthcoming books "Law and War," about America’s post-World War II war crimes policy, and "Facing Death," about war crimes in Cambodia. Dr. Maguire is himself a martial artist.

Thursday, January 11Sean Shelby of Grapplersworld.com joins us to discuss the progress of our e-mail campaign against censorship of mixed martial arts events on cable television in the US. Arne Soldwedel, International Director of Seidokaikan Karate, talks with us about the opening of the first Seidokaikan K-1 Dojo in the US, in Floral Park, NY.

Friday, January 12 — Today we preview Saturday’s Warrior’s Challenge XI at Table Mountain Casino outside Fresno, California, with phone interviews with fighters on that card including Floyd Sword, Scott Bills, and Joey Villasenor, along with IFC commentator Chris Cordeiro.
