Carlos Condit recorded his first win since 2015 on Saturday night, and the former interim welterweight champ sounds ready for his next challenge.

Condit took out Court McGee at UFC Fight Island 4, and outscored him with strikes for the unanimous decision win. In doing so, the 36-year-old Condit snapped a five-fight losing skid.

While talking to the media afterward about returning to the win column, Condit said this (quote via MMA Junkie).

“Competing at this level for a long period of time, you’re going to have wins and losses. I’m still about it. I still have fire in my gut. This fits right into the craziness of 2020 for me. It’s been a while since I’ve had a win. I haven’t fought in almost two years. It feels really good. I love this. I love what I do — win or lose. I’m a competitor. I come here to show up and get my hand raised. It’s been a while since I’ve got my hand raised. It feels amazing.”

“The Natural Born Killer” was also asked about who he might like to face next, and Condit named a couple of fellow, veteran fighters.

“There are a number of matchups that are intriguing: (Nick) Diaz, Matt Brown – we’ve been slated to fight several times. We’ll see.”

With Saturday’s win, Condit’s record now stands at 31-13.
