Chan Sung Jung is preparing to return to the UFC in the coming months, and the featherweight fighter has relayed that he wants to fight BJ Penn.

Jung, or “The Korean Zombie”, hasn’t fought since 2013, when he injured his shoulder while challenging Jose Aldo at UFC 163. More recently, however, Jung completed his two year, mandatory military service in South Korea, and now the 29 year-old is getting ready to fight again.

In a recent interview Jung did with Monsterzym, Jung reported that he wants to fight Penn in his Octagon return. The legend was recently forced to withdraw from an October 15th bout with 145 contender, Ricardo Lamas  (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“For the past six months, there’s a fighter that I’ve been wanting to fight: B.J. Penn,” Jung said. “When the B.J. Penn (vs. Ricardo) Lamas fight was announced, I thought I missed my chance. But, then I heard that B.J. Penn had a rib injury, so I kind of felt like maybe it was an opportunity for me. It would be great timing if B.J. Penn and I were ready to come back at the same time.

Jung currently holds an overall record of 13-4.
