The upcoming July 21st, UFC 149 card in Calgary, Alberta will feature another Canadian fighter, as today the promotion announced that Chris Clements has agreed to fight Siyar Bahadurzada at the event.

The Team Tompkins fighter will replace the injured Thiago Alves, who recently was forced to withdraw from the bout due to an undisclosed injury.

Clements is coming off a split decision win over Keith Wisniewski in April, which marked the veteran’s UFC debut.

The decision victory was also the first of Clements’s (11-4) career, as all ten of his previous wins had come via TKO or knockout.

Bahadurzada (21-4) is also coming off a successful UFC debut, as the Afghanistan native and Golden Glory fighter knocked out Paulo Thiago in 42 seconds at a UFC on FUEL TV card in April.

UFC 149 will be hosted by Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome and will feature a featherweight bout between champion Jose Aldo and Erik Koch in the main event.
