Chris Horodecki vs. Chris Saunders Headlines Bellator 47
By FCF Staff
Bellator Fighting Championships has announced that WEC veteran Chris Horodecki will battle lightweight Chris Saunders in the main event of the promotion’s upcoming, July 23rd card in Rama, Ontario. The promotion’s 47th event will be hosted by Casino Rama and will be broadcast live on MTV 2.
Horodecki (17-3) (pictured) is coming off a first round, submission victory over David Castillo in April, while competing on a Knockout Entertainment event. The win was a rebound victory for the 23 year-old, who was tapped out by Donald Cerrone at WEC 53 in December. The Canadian is 3-2 in his last five bouts.
“Fighting for a promotion like Bellator in front of my friends and family is just a dream come true,” Horodecki was quoted saying in the official announcement. “I had a great fight at Casino Rama back in April, and I’m just looking to build off that at Bellator 47.”
Saunders (9-1) has won seven straight heading into Bellator 47. Most recently the 25 year-old fighter knocked out Cleber Luciano at an International Fight Showdown event in April.
