Chris Weidman had some interesting, verbal exchanges with Michael Bisping over the years, but that hasn’t stopped him from congratulating his fellow, former UFC champ on his retirement.

For months, Bisping talked about the possibility of returning to the Octagon for one more bout. But, recently the British star announced he’s officially walking away from professional fighting.

Following the news, Weidman directed these comments to Bisping via Twitter:

Congrats to @bisping on his retirement ! He has accomplished so much in this sport and is def a future hall of famer! Unfortunately we never had the opportunity to fight in the octagon but it was a pleasure just to trash talk back and forth a few times ! Future is bright. Enjoy!
