Chris Weidman Says Fighting Michael Bisping Would be an “Easy Day”

Weidman

Chris Weidman is booked to face middleweight contender Yoel Romero at UFC 205, and if he locks up a fight with champion Michael Bisping, the “All American” is expecting an “easy day”.

Since Bisping shocked the world by knocking out Luke Rockhold in June, and securing the 185 title, Weidman has made it clear he doesn’t expect the British fighter’s reign to be a long one. Recently Weidman spoke to FOX Sports, and while discussing Bisping, the former champ stated:

“I beat Yoel, I get Bisping, that’s an easy day,” Weidman said. “He’s a tough guy, he showed he’s tough without a doubt but it might be one of my easiest fights I’ve had in years to get that fight with Bisping.”

“Me and him have been going back and forth for years now. Not really back and forth, he’s always just kind of crapped on me and my career. He was always jealous of me and everything I’ve accomplished,” Weidman added later in the interview. “I came up quick and he was just a guy that never fought for the title but had a ton of fights in the division….”

Bisping recorded his first title defense earlier this month by earning a unanimous decision win over Dan Henderson at UFC 204.
