An anti-trust lawsuit that has been brought against the UFC has reportedly been granted class certification by a judge in Nevada.

According to reports, judge Richard F. Boulware’s decision will allow for 1,200 fighters that competed for the UFC when it was under Zuffa ownership, from Dec. 16, 2010, until June 30, 2017, to collectively file suit against the promotion for alleged violations of antitrust laws.

Some of the fighters who are plaintiffs in the suit include Jon Fitch, Cung Le and Brandon Vera.

The plaintiffs for the suit, which alleges the UFC is an illegal monopoly or monopsony that has sought to limit fighter compensation, are seeking between $800 million and $1.6 billion in damages.

The UFC’s legal representation has already informed ESPN that they intend to appeal the decision on the claim that the suit is “legally and factually meritless”.
