Following his one sided loss to Mickey Gall in September, the consensus was that CM Punk wouldn’t be fighting under the UFC banner next, but it looks like the pro-wrestling star could be returning to the Octagon.

After Punk was submitted by Gall at UFC 203, UFC President Dana White relayed that the 38 year-old’s next bout “probably” shouldn’t be with the promotion. On the latest “MMA Hour”, however, Punk reported that he’s been in talks with the UFC about his next bout. The Chicago fighter also stated (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“I don’t want to speak for him, but I think if he wants to kill it, he would have killed it right then,” Punk said of his second fight being in the UFC. … “Until anything is official, I don’t want to say either way what he’s thinking or what he’s thinking. But yeah, I’m pretty confident that it’ll be in the UFC.”

UFC 203 is believed to have sold over 400,000 pay-per-view buys, which made it one of the top selling, UFC cards in 2016.
