Conor McGregor Claims Khabib Nurmagomedov is “Afraid”, “Trembling” Over Possible Rematch
By FCF Staff
Khabib Nurmagomedov has repeatedly said that Conor McGregor needs to record multiple wins before he deserves another title shot. But, according to the outspoken star, the undefeated lightweight champ is afraid to face him again.
Since McGregor was submitted by Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October, 2019, he’s pushed for a rematch. The champion, however, has argued McGregor doesn’t deserve one: the latter has not won a fight since 2016.
Well, in advance of McGregor’s January 18th bout with Donald Cerrone, he recently told The MacLife this (quotes via MMA Fighting):
“He (Nurmagomedov) is trembling. That man is trembling,” McGregor said. “He doesn’t want it. He doesn’t want it. You get it and he’s trying not to lose it again. I just smell sh*t. That’s all it is. He’s afraid and that’s it.
“But everyone wants it. The boss wants it, Dana [White] wants it, we all want it. So he can run but he cannot hide. I look forward to it.”
Nurmagomedov is currently booked to fight former interim lightweight champ Tony Ferguson on April 18th.
