Conor McGregor has been a driving force in the UFC’s top-selling, pay-per-views, and the former champ believes he’s going to set another record this Saturday.

McGregor (22-5) is set to battle Dustin Poirier (27-6) in a rubber match on July 10, in a bout that will serve as the headliner for UFC 264. Poirier avenged his 2014 loss to McGregor in January, by stopping the star in round two.

Recently McGregor spoke with Rolling Stone, and while discussing the legacy of trilogy fights in combat sports, he made the following prediction.

It’s thrilling. I’ll break records on the PPV. I know that’s the expectation. I’ve been in big fights before, and it’s always electric, and this one will probably be the biggest so far. Having fans there this time is going to add even more to the atmosphere. So, I’m truly so excited, and I’m going to put on a show.

McGregor’s 2018 loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, is believed to have sold approximately 2,400,000 PPV buys, a UFC record.

The decorated fighter’s rematches with Nate Diaz and Poirier are believed to have generated around 1,600,000 buys, which are the second and or third-highest totals in UFC history.

UFC 264 will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
