After incurring a horrific injury in his rubber match with Dustin Poirier last month, Conor McGregor is reporting that his recovery is ahead of schedule.

The controversial star, who snapped his leg late in the opening round of the fight, has remained in the United States, after undergoing surgery. Recently, during an Instagram live session, McGregor reported that scans he had on the repaired leg look good (quotes via MMA Junkie).

“Scan went well,” McGregor said. “Scan went very well. To be back on the bike, I’m back on the bike before he said I was going to be able to bear weight. I’m rocking (and) well ahead of schedule. Let’s keep it going. … It was good news. Good news at the doc’s.”

“I think this bone is back together, to be honest,” McGregor said. “The ankle is feeling great. … I’ve got me flip-flops on, I have. I’m out of the boot. I’ve got the flip-flops on, so that’s a good sign. … I’m still jacked as well, bro. It ain’t over. We’re only warming up. Still fresh. Still untouched. You still can’t get me.”

During the session, McGregor also discussed the possibility of fighting at a higher weight. The former featherweight and lightweight champ reportedly claimed that he is bigger than middleweight contender, Kelvin Gastelum.

The 33-year-old McGregor (22-6) has fought in MMA just four times since 2016 and has gone 1-3 during that stretch.
