Conor McGregor will not be competing at UFC 303 tomorrow night as planned. As the card nears, the former champ’s reporting he’s having a tough time watching from the sidelines.

McGregor was booked to fight Michael Chandler at Saturday’s event. But, earlier this month he was forced to withdraw from the card due to a broken toe.

As the card’s fight week continues to unfold, the polarizing star recently shared this comment via social media:

“I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t in deep pain right now watching fight week take place. Deep mental pain. Thank you for the messages of support and encouragement, my peers and fans.”

The 35-year-old McGregor (22-6) hasn’t fought since July, 2021, when he broke his leg during a fight with Dustin Poirier. Since McGregor withdrew from UFC 303, he has said he hopes to fight in August or September. But, UFC President Dana White has stopped short of committing to a timeline for the fighter’s return.

Light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will battle former champ Jiri Prochazka in the new headliner for UFC 303. Pereira and Prochazka fought this past November and the latter was stopped in round two.

UFC 303 will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
