Conor McGregor Tells Dustin Poirier He’ll “be Ready For The Tactics” in Trilogy Fight
By FCF Staff
Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor aren’t expected to fight again for a few months yet. But, the lightweight stars are already trading verbal shots ahead of their trilogy fight.
The accomplished fighters are expected to fight for a third time on July 10th, at UFC 264. The bout has been booked following Poirier’s (27-6) stoppage win over McGregor (22-5) this past January, which avenged his 2014 loss to the former champ.
In the rematch, Poirier punished McGregor’s lead leg with calf kicks, before finishing him with punches in round two. Following the loss, McGregor reported that the kicks had played an integral role in Poirier’s win.
After McGregor recently reflected on how he trained as he was becoming a star, the two had the following exchange on Twitter.
I never slack, I'll meet you in the middle of the octagon July 10th. https://t.co/cI9VqdtNhW

Good to hear Dustin, I hope so. As last time you backed up and shot inside the first 30 seconds. I’ll be in the middle from the very go if you want it. You know that. I’ll be ready for the tactics this time too tho.
See you in there. https://t.co/RMiwF1rpGD— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 6, 2021
