Dana White has said he’s not expecting to see Conor McGregor back in the Octagon until this fall, at the earliest. But, the polarizing star claims he’s still driving for a bout with Michael Chandler this summer, and that further, he’s hoping to fight Nate Diaz inside of 2024 as well.

For months now, there’s been extensive speculation and talk about when McGregor and Chandler would fight, following their coaching roles on “The Ultimate Fighter”. Initially, the fight was expected to take place in 2023, but that never happened.

McGregor publicly campaigned to fight last December and then this coming June. But, more recently, White relayed he’s hoping to book McGregor – Chandler this fall. The UFC President has also repeatedly noted how wealthy McGregor is, and how the star doesn’t need to fight, while discussing the situation.

But, according to a report from MMA Fighting, McGregor recently told fans via Instagram stories that he’s still hoping to fight Chandler on June 29th. In addition, McGregor also said he wants to complete his rubber match series with Nate Diaz in September on Mexican Independence Day.

The former featherweight and lightweight champ also reportedly noted that his “enthusiasm” is waning, due to a “lack of action”. The 35-year-old claimed the UFC has been told about his wish for the aforementioned fights.

McGregor (22-6) hasn’t competed now since July, 2021, when he broke his leg during a rubber match with Dustin Poirier.
