Conor McGregor’s Nutritionist Weighs-In on Star’s Fighting Future
By FCF Staff
It’s still not clear what the future holds for Conor McGregor, in terms of his next bout, but his nutritionist believes the star will return to competition soon.
Following McGregor’s stoppage loss to undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather last August, the UFC’s lightweight champ has said he intends to defend the title. But, as February approaches, McGregor’s next bout has yet to be finalized.
The Irish fighter’s nutritionist, George Lockhart, was a guest recently on “The MMA Hour”. When asked to weigh-in on McGregor’s future, Lockhart said this (quote via MMA Fighting):
“If I was going to put my money on him — a lot of people are like, ‘Do you think he’s going to be back?’ — yeah, 100 percent. That guy, he’s a fighter,” Lockhart said. “I think he enjoyed boxing. I think it was a nice little break. But, I mean, the guy’s a fighter. So I’m sure we’ll see him soon.”
McGregor hasn’t fought in the cage since November, 2016, when he stopped Eddie Alvarez to secure the 155 title.
