Following Felicia Spencer’s win over Megan Anderson last weekend, the UFC newcomer said it would be her honor to fight Cris “Cyborg”. Since then, the former featherweight champ’s explained why she’s down to fight Spencer, July 27th at UFC 240.

The UFC is holding an event in Edmonton, Alberta on the aforementioned date, and during a recent appearance on “MMA Junkie Radio”, “Cyborg” said this (quote via MMA Junkie):

“You know I haven’t fought, one fight in 16 months,” the star said. “And they make me wait nine months for Amanda, and then when they pass over that fight, five months, and then too long to fight for me.”

“When she’s calling me out I said cool, let’s fight,” said “Cyborg”, who also said she’s willing to face Spencer at UFC 240 in a recent tweet. “I already have asked for fights two months after Amanda fight just to be ready and be prepared. Of course I’d like to fight in Anaheim, but I have one fight left and the Anaheim date … I’m going to be a free agent after that.”

“Cyborg’s” (20-2, 1 no-contest) last bout took place in December at UFC 232, when she was quickly knocked out by Amanda Nunes. The defeat was her first in MMA since 2005.

With Spencer’s submission win over Anderson at UFC Rochester, she moved her record to 7-0.
