According to Cris “Cyborg”, if a bout with Amanda Nunes is going to happen anytime soon, the latter’s going to have to fight twice in a two month time frame.

Nunes began calling for a bout with the featherweight champ a couple of months ago, but more recently, she’s been booked to defend the bantamweight title against Raquel Pennington at UFC 224. That card will take place on May 12th in Rio de Janeiro.

Recently “Cyborg” released a statement, and the Brazilian star questioned whether Nunes really wants to fight her. In addition, the champion said this (quote via MMA Junkie):

“If Amanda isn’t ready to go for UFC 226 in Las Vegas I have told my team I want to fight whomever is ready. I explained to my manager that if Amanda wins in Rio and then declines the fight for July, that I don’t want to invest any more time into trying to make this fight happen. We can visit the fight again if Nunes decides to return to featherweight and establish herself in the division against the number one contender.”

UFC 226 will take place on July 7th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
