Curtis Blaydes recorded his biggest win to date on Saturday night, and he did so, as his UFC contract approaches its end.

Blaydes took on the legendary Mark Hunt at UFC 221, and went on to score a unanimous decision win. In a recent story from MMA Junkie, the rising heavyweight reported that his fight with Hunt, was the second last bout on his UFC deal.

Blaydes also had this to say about his contract status with the UFC, and testing the free agent waters:

“If the UFC allows me to get to that fourth fight without a decent offer … I’ll listen to Bellator.”

“They’ve been offering guys fat, fat contracts, and those heavyweights aren’t nearly as good as the ones in the UFC,” Blaydes added, while referring to Bellator’s heavyweight signings. “So the enticement is there – lesser competition for more money.”

With his win over Hunt, the 26 year-old Blaydes moved his UFC record to 4-1, with 1 no-contest.
