By Press Release

In one of the strongest periods for the division in Cage Warriors history, 3 high-level Flyweight bouts have been confirmed for the opening night of ‘THE TRILOGY’ on September 24th.

Flyweight Champion Samir ‘Silverback’ Faiddine (11-6) will make his first defence against rising contender Luke ‘The Apocalypse’ Shanks (6-1).

Faiddine scored arguably the biggest shock of the night at CW106: Night of Champions last summer, with a stunning knockout victory over Sam Creasey. He’s among the current generation of French fighters doing big things in an exciting period for their country’s MMA scene, and hails out of Paris’ MMA Factory – the same gym that produced top UFC heavyweight Francis Ngannou.

Facing Faiddine on March 20th is Scotland’s Luke Shanks, one of Europe’s hottest rising flyweights on a current 3-fight win streak. Shanks’ latest TKO win over Pietro Menga at CW107 was one of his most convincing performances to date, and put him firmly in the title conversation. When the call came, ‘The Apocalypse’ answered!

Previous Scottish Cage Warriors champions have included Stevie Ray and Ross Houston.

Faiddine vs Shanks was due to take place at CW113 on March 20th, and has now been re-booked Cage Warriors’ return to action on September 24th.

One the same night, 4 of the UK’s top flyweight names will also showcase their skills to kick off ‘THE TRILOGY’ series. With big wins at CW114, each will be hoping to earn themselves the next shot at the belt.

In an intriguing prospect vs veteran matchup previously scheduled to take place in Birmingham, the undefeated Jake Hadley (5-0) will make his Cage Warriors debut against Shaj Haque (10-4).

And in a similarly exciting clash, Coner Hignett (8-5) comes up against Adam Amarasinghe (5-2). Both men pulled off impressive finish wins on the same card at CW113 in March.

Cage Warriors 114, 115 and 116 will take place across three consecutive nights on the 24th, 25th and 26th September in ‘THE TRILOGY’, one of the company’s most ambitious projects to date. The events will take place behind-closed-doors at the BEC Arena in Manchester, broadcast to millions worldwide on UFC Fight Pass and a host of broadcast partners across the globe.
