Although Dan Henderson hasn’t said his upcoming bout with Lyoto Machida will be his last, the 45 year-old legend has admitted the end of his storied career is near.

Henderson is booked to face Machida at UFC on FOX 19, which will take place on April 16th in Tampa, Florida. Recently the former Strikeforce and PRIDE champ appeared on “The Luke Thomas Show”, and Henderson revealed the Machida fight is the last on his current deal.

“Hendo” also had this to say, when asked if he’s considered Bellator as an option, once he enters free agency (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

I honestly haven’t thought about it. I know that without having any fights left my contract with the UFC is an option, but I’m getting to the point where I’m not going to have too many more fights. I would like to end up fighting my last fight in the UFC.

We’ll see how things go after this fight. How things go in the fight probably makes a big difference as well. I’m getting definitely close to the end of my career.

Henderson (31-14) is coming off a stoppage loss to Vitor Belfort in November, after he KO’d Tim Boetsch last June. The heavy handed fighter is 2-3 in his last five fights.
