Henderson celebrating his win over Rafael Cavalcante

The Ultimate Fighting Championship confirmed today that Dan Henderson will fight Lyoto Machida as expected at UFC 157 on February 23rd. The bout will accompany previously announced bouts including bantamweight Urijah Faber versus. Ivan Menjivar, and UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey versus Liz Carmouche.

The announcement confirms that Henderson has recovered from the knee injury which pulled him from his scheduled UFC 151 bout with light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones. The 42 year-old Henderson (29-8) hasn’t fought since last November when he worked his way to unanimous decision win over “Shogun” Rua,

Machida (18-3) is coming off an impressive knockout of Ryan Bader in August, and was tapped to rematch Jones at UFC 152 in the wake of Henderson’s injury, but declined due to the short notice.

UFC 157 will be hosted by Anaheim’s Honda Center and will be available via pay-per-view.
