By FCF Staff

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has confirmed that Dan Henderson will fight Rashad Evans at the promotion’s first card in Winnipeg, Manitoba, which will go down June 15th. The match-up was expected to be added to UFC 161, however, the promotion was reportedly awaiting for Henderson to receive medical clearance.

The UFC has also announced that as reported, Antonion Rogerio Nogueira will rematch “Shogun” Rua at the event, and that Stipe Miocic will battle Soa Palelei.

Henderson (29-9) will be looking to rebound from the split decision loss he incurred versus Lyoto Machida at UFC 157 last month, while Evans (17-3-1) is coming off a UD loss to the aforementioned Nogueira at UFC 156.

The UFC also tweeted that the main event for the June 15th card has yet to be announced.

UFC 161 will be hosted Winnipeg’s MTS Centre and will be a pay-per-view event.
