Dan Hooker Gets Visa Ahead of UFC 266, But Won’t Arrive Until Late Into Fight Week
By FCF Staff
Dan Hooker’s public campaign to secure a visa and a trip to the United States for UFC 266 has been successful. But, now it remains to be seen how the renowned striker looks at Friday’s weigh-ins.
Due to COVID-19 and the lockdowns in Hooker’s native New Zealand, the lightweight contender had issues obtaining a visa, ahead of UFC 266. Hooker is booked to fight Nasrat Haqparast at the Las Vegas event.
Hooker turned to social media in an effort to expedite the visa process, and recently the fighter confirmed he’s been successful. But, the 31-year-old has also revealed that he won’t head to the U.S. until Thursday, one day before the card’s weigh-ins.
And we are in with a shot….they have granted me an appointment Monday. All goes well and I get my passport back, I can jump on the only flight out of NZ Thursday night.
