Dana White Argues There’s “Other Ways” to Make Conor McGregor Happy

Conor McGregor has said he wants a stake in the UFC, prior to his recent retirement, but Dana White still insists that’s not going to happen.

McGregor has said in the past that he deserves shares in the MMA promotion, and the former champ repeated that wish last month. Since then, however, McGregor has announced he is retiring, and some believe it’s because White’s said it’s not in the cards.

While appearing on the Las Vegas CBS affiliate KLAS, White had this to say about McGregor’s hopes to secure shares in the UFC (quote via MMA Junkie):

“If you look at basketball, Michael Jordan didn’t own a piece of the league, and the list goes on and on,” White said. “Is Conor very valuable to the sport, and to the brand UFC? Of course he is. But that’s a tough one. But I think there’s other ways we can make him happy.”

Who gets respected more than Conor McGregor does? C’mon. The guy’s never been disrespected – definitely not by me.”

McGregor returned to the Octagon in October and was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov in round four.
