Heading into Dana White’s recent meeting with Khabib Nurmagomedov, there was speculation about whether a bout with Georges St-Pierre would come up, and if that would prompt both men to end their retirements. But, according to White, the stars are no longer interested in the super fight.

For quite some time, both Nurmagomedov and St-Pierre let it be known that they were interested in fighting one another. White, however, repeatedly said the UFC wasn’t interested.

In more recent months, however, White changed his stance and said the UFC could be open to booking it. So, many had wondered if a bout with GSP, could be the match-up that brings Nurmagomedov back to the cage.

But, following UFC Fight Island 7, White was asked if that match-up came up when he met with Khabib  on Friday. White said the following (quote via MMA Junkie).

“Nope,” White said. “GSP never came up. (Nurmagomedov) isn’t interested in that fight. From what I hear today, after that, neither is GSP. So, that’s over.”

During the UFC Fight Island 7 broadcast, White reported that Khabib could decide to fight again, if one of the top lightweight contenders impresses him in their upcoming fights.
