Dana White Comments on Possibility of Donald Cerrone – Conor McGregor Fight
By FCF Staff
Both Donald Cerrone and Conor McGregor have relayed now they’re interested in fighting, and Dana White has acknowledged the bout’s a possibility.
Cerrone has been pushing for a fight with McGregor for a little while now, and after he finished Alex Hernandez at UFC Brooklyn, “Cowboy” called the star out again. McGregor responded to Cerrone not long after, and the former champ said he’s willing to battle the veteran.
White was asked to comment on the exchange between Cerrone and McGregor after the card, and the UFC President said this (quotes via MMA Fighting):
“Yeah, I mean anything is possible,” White said, when asked about the possibility of the match-up taking place. “If those guys want that and the fans want to see it, that’s what I do.”
“Don’t run out there and say that’s the fight I’m making. I don’t know what I’m gonna do, but I like the fact that two of these guys that are complete dogs and fight anybody — willing to fight anybody — want to fight each other. That’s fun.”
McGregor is coming off a submission loss to lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov in October.
