Although Dana White did not meet with Conor McGregor this past weekend as expected, the UFC President’s still confident the Irish star will fight lightweight champ, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Recently it was reported that White would meet with McGregor this weekend, since he was in Liverpool, England to attend UFC Fight Night 130. After the event, however, White said he did not meet with the former champ, but that he planned to meet with him soon in Las Vegas.

While discussing McGregor’s next bout, White said it will depend on what happens at the fighter’s court date in June, as a result of the latter’s ongoing legal issues in New York State. McGregor is facing three counts of assault and one of criminal mischief for what unfolded at the media day for UFC 223.

While discussing Nurmagomedov – McGregor, however, White said this (quote via MMA Fighting):

“I’m pretty confident that that is the fight that Conor wants, and I’m pretty confident that that is the fight that Khabib wants,” White said. “So, yeah, I could see that happening.”

McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC cage since November, 2016, when he stopped Eddie Alvarez.
