Dana White Confirms Georges St-Pierre Has Signed New UFC Deal
By FCF Staff
Recently it was reported that Georges St-Pierre and the UFC were close to finalizing a new deal, and now Dana White has confirmed the former welterweight champ has signed a new contract.
The UFC President confirmed the signing to the L.A. Times. In addition, White said that GSP could face the winner of the March 4th bout between welterweight champ Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson. White also said that middleweight champ Michael Bisping is a possibility, and that St-Pierre has also discussed moving to 155.
The Canadian star hasn’t fought since 2013, when he earned a split decision win over Johny Hendricks, and then announced he was taking a hiatus from fighting. After GSP announced his intention to fight again, he reported he would need a new contract to compensate him for the sponsorship money he’s lost, as a result of the Reebok uniform agreement.
