It wasn’t that long ago when Dana White reported there was a better chance of him playing for the Patriots, then Conor McGregor boxing Floyd Mayweather. But, based off recent comments the UFC President’s made, it’s clear White hopes the bout takes place.

Recently White appeared on “The Herd”, and while talking about McGregor – Mayweather, he said this (quote via FOX Sports):

“This kid steps up. He’ll fight anybody, anywhere, anytime. A lot of people say it, very few really mean it. Conor McGregor, I call him the unicorn. I’ve never dealt with a kid like this”

“So for him to have this kind of opportunity, to make this kind of money, this type of a fight that people are so interested in worldwide, I almost feel like I have to make it.”

“It’s a fight that people do want to see. It’s intriguing and obviously it’s a fight that Conor wants because financially it’s going to be massive for him…”

The long rumored and much discussed bout has yet to be finalized, but White’s also said he believes the fight will happen, since there’s so much revenue to be made.
