Donald Cerrone recently announced he hopes to end his retirement and fight again. But, UFC CEO Dana White is clearly not on board with the idea.

Cerrone, who is now 41, retired in July, 2022, following a loss to Jim Miller. The defeat extended “Cowboy’s” winless streak to 7.

More recently, however, the fan favorite reported via social media that he wants to compete in two more fights. Following the latest Dana White Contender Series event on Tuesday, White was asked to respond to Cerrone’s announcement. White didn’t hold back in relaying he’s not a fan of the idea (quotes via MMA Fighting.com).

“I hate it. I hate it,” White said. “Love him, hate that.

“He retired. For what? What’s left to prove? If you want to make money, let’s figure something else out. I hate it. When guys retire, they retire for a reason. They don’t just retire because — they retire because they know it’s over. They know it is.

Cerrone (36-17), who has competed in 38 UFC fights to date, was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2023.
