Nick Diaz recently said on a media call that he doesn’t enjoy fighting, and UFC President Dana White evidently believes the eccentric fighter.

Diaz made the revelation on a recent call to promote his UFC return, and his January 31st bout with the legendary Anderson Silva. While speaking with the press, prior to today’s UFC Fight Night card in Maine, White had this to say about Diaz’s comments (quote via UFC.com):

“He’s Nick Diaz,” White said. “There are a lot of things he says that make him Nick. I believe that he doesn’t enjoy fighting. Everything that this guy says is why he is who he is – the way that he fights, his demeanor – it all makes him Nick Diaz. A lot of people don’t like going to work but you gotta do what you gotta do. That’s how he makes a living, and not everybody loves what they do.”

White also added that he’s “pretty pumped” for the Silva-Diaz fight, which will take place at a venue to be determined in Las Vegas.
