Dana White Reports Conor McGregor to Fight Again in “Early 2025”

By FCF Staff

All signs continue to point to Conor McGregor not fighting in 2024, as UFC President Dana White has repeated the polarizing star will not return to the cage until next year.

Following McGregor’s withdrawal from a June bout with Michael Chandler, due to a broken toe, White eventually announced the former champ wouldn’t fight this year. That prompted McGregor to call once again for the bout to take place before 2024 concluded.

But, more recently, White spoke with the New York Post. While discussing McGregor, the UFC President repeated that the plan is to have the Irish fighter return to action in early, 2025
(quotes via MMA Fighting.com).

“Conor McGregor will fight next year, early 2025. He’s had so much time off, as far as the hunger, he’s a very wealthy guy. We’ll find out. We’ll find out when he comes back, but he is definitely one of the big superstars of the sport that elevated the UFC all throughout Europe and other parts of the world. He’s been a big star and a great partner for us.”

If and when McGregor does fight again, it will mark the first time he has done so since 2021. In that fight, the former featherweight and lightweight champion broke his leg in a rubber match with Dustin Poirier.
