Dana White Reports UFC Could Start Promoting Boxing Bouts
By FCF Staff
After playing a key part in August’s boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor, UFC President Dana White says the promotion could officially start promoting boxing bouts at some juncture.
Even before McGregor was officially signed to face Mayweather, multiple UFC fighters expressed an interest in taking pro-boxing bouts. McGregor also said he envisioned boxing again, following his bout with Mayweather.
White was a guest on the The Unnamed Podvideocast With Jason Gay, and during the interview, he said the following about promoting boxing matches (quote via MMA Fighting):
“I could see bringing boxing under our umbrella and trying to see what we could do with that,” White said.” “I could see doing that.”
The UFC President also relayed in the interview that he continues to love his job, despite the fact the company is no longer owned by his longtime friends, the Fertitta brothers.
