Nothing is signed yet, but UFC President Dana White has confirmed that the promotion is trying to book a bout between Georges St-Pierre and Nate Diaz.

White recently appeared on the UFC’s “Unfiltered” podcast, and during the interview, he reportedly confirmed that they are hoping to have St-Pierre and Diaz fight at UFC 227, August 4th. According to White, the fight would be contested at 155 pounds. The news comes not long after Mike Russell reported he had been informed of the proposed match-up.

St-Pierre is coming off a historic win in November, when he choked out Michael Bisping to win the middleweight title. Following the bout, however, the former welterweight champ vacated the title, due to his health issues with ulcerative colitis.

GSP fought Nate’s older brother Nick in 2013, and won via unanimous decision.

Nate Diaz, meanwhile, hasn’t fought since 2016, when he went 1-1 in bouts with Conor McGregor.
